Salina Intermediate School

Mural Project

Mural Project

Congratulations to Salina Intermediate on their new mural! Staff members at Salina Intermediate donated to a mural fund to commission a mural to be painted in the main hallway of the school, showcasing Wildcat pride. The beautiful mural painted on the main hallway illustrates a Wildcat moving through various academics and electives as it’s heading towards high school, which is represented by the Edsel Ford Thunderbird. The academics and electives are depicted as symbols chosen by the teachers. The mural came into fruition due in part to financial support from teacher Paul Bruce who donated his $1000 winnings from a radio contest to the mural project. The project was initiated by teacher Yasmin Mohamed, who wanted to create a visual for all stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, community members and alumni) who come to Salina which expresses Wildcat pride. The mural successfully represents Wildcat pride and the school motto, “One team, one family, one mission, one goal”. It is a beautiful reflection of school spirit, painted by muralist Martin LaPrise.
