Welcome to Salina Intermediate

I'd like to tell you a little bit about me. I started teaching in Dearborn in 1995 and received a full-time position at Salina in 1997. I was appointed as the Assistant Principal of Salina in 2002.   I became the Principal of the Salina Intermediate School on December 1st , 2003.

I have a Bachelor's degree in history and political science from the University of Windsor. I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Detroit Mercy. I am currently working towards the attainment of a Ph.D at Wayne State University.

I am proud to have started the Science and Technology Theme School at Salina, where we integrate science and technology into the core curriculum. In 2001 we were rated one of the top eight schools in Michigan for integrating technology across the curriculum, as evaluated by Ameritech Technology Academy, Wayne State University and Eastern Michigan University.   We have also hosted over 700 teachers, parents, and administrators to provide them with training on how to integrate technology across the curriculum.

I've been happily married to JoAnne since 1996 and I have a daughter Ashley who was born on November 9th , 2003.   I currently enjoy playing recreational hockey and as a young adult I played at the Junior B level for the Leamington Flyers in the Western Ontario Hockey League.   I have two younger sisters Jennifer and Joany and they are both teachers in Windsor, Ontario.   My younger brother Jason was drafted in the 6 th round of the NHL entry draft by the Ottawa Senators and he currently plays professional hockey in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) for the Toledo Storm.   I have five years of experience coaching adolescent boys' hockey team which includes three years of experience coaching at the AAA travel level in Windsor, Ontario. My favorite team in the NHL is the Detroit Red Wings and my favorite players are Steve Yzerman and Brendan Shanahan.   My favorite television show is "Meet the Press" and I enjoy reading historical biographies and books that deal with educational leadership.

I am very excited to be the principal of Salina Intermediate and I look forward to working closely with the parents and community members to create a successful school for our students.
