Salina Intermediate students who are placed on student contracts have scored two or more grade levels behind their actual grade when taking the NWEA assessment. This assessment is completed by students three times a year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). All students are expected to show at least one years growth by the end of the school year. However, if a student is scoring more than a year behind their actual grade level it is very important that the student is working to demonstrate more than one year’s growth.
Parents please make sure that you know your child’s actual NWEA scores and grade level equivalency. Some students have not been placed on parent contracts but have not scored on grade level.
Do you know how your child is doing in school? One of the ways you can track your child’s academic progress is by utilizing Parent Connect. What is Parent Connect? Parent Connect is a website that allows you to view your child’s progress in class. The website reflects your child’s teacher’s gradebook which includes grades on assignments, projects, tests, etc. Frequently checking Parent Connect will allow you to keep up with your child’s academic progress.
