Gotta Keep Reading

horizontalBanner:headerThis year’s theme for March Reading Month is “Oh the Places You’ll Go!” We will engage  students in fun activities that will encourage a love of reading and at the same time stimulate them in thinking about what road they may want to take in their lives, where they may want to “go”.  Wherever they may want to go, reading can take them there! They can travel in their minds to anywhere a book takes them, the possibilities are limitless. Reading can also take them there by providing them with benefits such as increased comprehension and fluency, improved writing skills, and an expanded vocabulary. This will lead them to greater success in school, which in turn can lead them to a brighter academic future. We want our students to imagine the places they’ll go when they are consistently engaged in reading. We encourage our families to support us by making sure each child is reading a half hour a day, everyday. We look forward to parents visiting our school to read to our students and having fun with us on Bingo Night which is planned for March 17th from 3:30-5:00. Thank you for your continued support!
