Dear Parents/Guardians,
On November 16th, 2020, we will be moving forward with a change in our Remote Learning schedule. This change reflects input from parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators district-wide regarding the overall effectiveness of our current schedule. As we move into the 2nd cardmarking period, we are adjusting our current practices to ensure that we are doing what is best for our students and constantly seeking ways to positively impact their learning. We noticed specific challenges with regards to asynchronous work during the 1st card-marking. The plan was shared at the board meeting on November 9th, 2020.
The change will ensure that students receive direct instruction, timely support and feedback on grade level content. Currently, two-way communication reports Indicate a higher number of students in danger of failing mainly in the asynchronous sessions. With the new schedule, students will have daily interaction with their teachers in all their classes during instruction.
Students will attend all 6 classes daily via zoom sessions (synchronous) for 40 minutes each class. Teachers will conduct a short and focused mini-lesson and utilize breakout groups to support students’ grade level proficiency. Students will have a break every 2 hours, a 30-minute lunch period, as well as a 15-minute advisory period focused on social-emotional learning. In addition, our teachers will continue to support selected students after their zoom sessions with Learning Labs in small-groups.
Our administrative and teaching staff are consistently looking at ways to improve learning for all students. We are hopeful that this schedule will provide our students with the academic and social/emotional support they need during these challenging times. Please continue to check in with your child’s work DAILY by logging into Parent Connect, set firm expectations with regards to a schedule and routine, and have meaningful conversations about social media usage. Ensure your child is ready and prepared to participate in live classes on time. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers and the building for any support you may need.

سيحضر الطلاب جميع الفصول الدراسية الستة يوميًا عبر جلسات الزووم (متزامن) لمدة ٤٠ دقيقة لكل فصل. سيقوم المعلمون بتدريس درسًا صغيرًا قصيرًا ومكثفاً ويستخدمون مجموعات الدعم الفرعية لدعم تفوق الطلاب في الصف. سوف يحصل الطلاب على استراحة كل ساعتين ، وفترة غداء مدتها ٣٠ دقيقة ، بالإضافة إلى فترة استشارية مدتها ١٥ دقيقة تركز على التعلم الاجتماعي العاطفي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، سيستمر مدرسونا في دعم طلاب معينين بعد جلسات الزووم الخاصة بهم باستخدام مختبرات التعليم في مجموعات صغيرة.
يبحث أعضاء هيئة التدريس والإداريين لدينا باستمرار عن طرق لتحسين التعلم لجميع الطلاب. نأمل أن يزود هذا الجدول طلابنا بالدعم الأكاديمي والاجتماعي / العاطفي الذي يحتاجونه خلال هذه الأوقات الصعبة. يرجى الاستمرار في مراجعة أعمال الطالب يوميًا عن طريق تسجيل الدخول إلى رابط الأهل ، و وضع قواعد ثابتة للجدول الزمني الدراسي والروتين ، وإجراء محادثات مفيدة حول استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. تأكد من أن يكون الطالب جاهز ومستعد للمشاركة في الدروس المباشرة في الوقت المحدد. كما هو الحال دائمًا ، لا تترددوا في التواصل مع معلمي الطالب و المدرسة لأي مساعدة قد تحتاجها.
