We are noticing that with the coming of the Month of Ramadan many students are coming to school very late or being absent. This is causing them to lose very valuable instruction time. State assessments are coming up very soon and the teachers are preparing students for these tests. When your child is absent they are losing this instruction and when they are tardy they are disrupting the learning environment for the other students when they walk in. Please make sure they are sleeping on time so that they can come to school on time. We understand that many students pray Taraweeh and also wake up to eat early (sahoor) but the expectation is that they must still be on time for school. This is an expectation we have for our own children as well. If students continue to be absent or tardy there will be consequences such as losing the privilege to attend field trips and being assigned detention. We will also be making phone calls home. If it continues to persist after this we will require the parents to come into the building for a meeting. Please help us to ensure the best education for your child. We want them to be successful and this means making sure they are here to receive their education.
