Dear Salina Families,
On behalf of our entire Salina Salina staff, we would like to welcome your family back to school. We hope that you all had an outstanding and relaxing summer! We are looking forward to this new school year, building upon our success, continuing to improve and always working to put students’ first! The staff and I appreciate your patience, support and perseverance as we work as a team to help all of our students learn the essential skills and standards of our curriculum. We will continue to rise and work together to do what’s best for student’s safety, social and emotional wellbeing and academics.
We are very proud to continue our schools’ tradition of high expectations and excellence in education. This year, we are excited to welcome our new assistant principal, Ms. Lena Abdraboh, who was the assistant principal last year at Dearborn High School and comes with 16 years of experience in education. We plan to build upon our success from last school year. Our staff and students have become experts in technology integration, we have learned to be more flexible and adapt with all the changes that have come our way! By working together as a school community, we will continue to have a positive impact in the lives of students attending our school.
The first day of school will be on Monday August 26 and breakfast will be served to all students from 7:45-8:15. Students will be dismissed at 11:30AM. Open House this year will be on August 23 from 1:00PM-2:30PM. This will include a chance to tour the school, pick up student schedules, visit classrooms, meet your child’s teachers and staff. Our school partner in literacy, (UUH) Unified Under Hope, will be present to distribute school supplies and literacy books! We will also have (LAHC) Leaders Advancing and Helping Communities, our community and school partner present at Salina during open house to showcase their upcoming programs and events this year!
We are very proud of the growth of our athletics program at Salina. Fall sports for middle school will be Football for the boys and Volleyball for the girls. You can obtain more information on sports physicals and how to sign up for athletics this year.
We look forward to working with all of the students, their families, and community members as we unite together to ensure that our students are successful at Salina Intermediate during the 2024-25 school year.
