Dear Salina Community,
As part of our ongoing effort to keep an open line of communication with our parents, I would like to take a moment to share information with you regarding comments made on social media that are affecting our community.
Early this morning we were made aware of threatening comments on social media made to students. We must, and we do, take these comments seriously and upon being made aware of the comments immediately contacted Dearborn Police. Working with school administrators, the police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the comment. Their team of detectives and cyber security experts have had great success in identifying individuals responsible for making these types of comments. We are confident they will be able to do the same in regards to this comment.
At this time law enforcement authorities have no reason to believe this comment poses a direct threat to the safety of our school. Therefore, Salina Intermediate will be open Friday, December 10th. However, out of an abundance of caution, we will have several resources at our disposal to ensure a safe and productive school day. School Resource Officers, additional district staff, and other resources from the Dearborn Police will be at Salina Intermediate. Their presence is meant to bring an added sense of security to our students and staff.
I want to commend the students who reported the comments directly to school authorities. Sharing information and communicating is the best way for all of us to stay informed and safe. At the same time it is important for all of us to talk with our children and remind them of the dangers and serious consequences they may face if they decide to post or send comments that insight fear or disrupt the operation of our school. Posting threatening comments or statements that incite fear or disruption to the school day can lead to criminal charges and disciplinary action from the school.
I know that all of us, working together, can create the very best learning environment for all students.

في وقت مبكر من صباح اليوم، علمنا بوجود منشورات على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي تنطوي على تهديدات للطلاب. ومن واجبنا كما جرت العادة أخذ هذه التهديدات على محمل الجد. واتخاذ الإجراء المناسب. حيث نقوم فور علمنا بأي من هذه التعليقات بالاتصال بشرطة ديربورن. وبالتعاون مع الطاقم الإداري المدرسي، تفتح الشرطة تحقيقا لتحديد مصدر التعليق. ويقوم فريق التحقيق وخبراء الأمن الافتراضي ب تحديد هوية الأفراد المسؤولين عن نشر هذا النوع من التعليقات. بنجاح. نحن على ثقة من أنهم قرة رجال الأمن على فعل الشيء نفسه فيما يتعلق بهذا المنشور.

أعلم أن بإمكاننا جميعًا، بالعمل معًا لإنشاء أفضل بيئة تعليمية لجميع الطلاب.
